Forget enquiry about addressing - obviously (??) you send
as many address bits as necessary. Reading too many data
sheets. Some smaller EEPROMs use block selection and
the larger ones use direct access by 2 x 8-bit addressing.
Should have just stuck to the sheet for the memory I'm going
to use
