    I think this isn't a problem. Datasheets says 25mA source and 25mA sink.

    The pullups are very weak. I've measured only 80uA. The PIC's PORTB
pullup have about 180uA.

    I have a project where 12 groups of 8 leds are multiplexed. This makes a
duty cycle of 8.3% and the LEDs are bright with 180R resistors. Again, no
problem.
