source= http://www.piclist.com/postbot.asp?id=piclist\2002\07\29\111901a Please don't get me started on how lame LSOFTs List server software is. I now have a list of about 10 exploits that can be used against it. Security holes the size of a freight train. It's a good thing I work against SPAM rather than for it. BUT: That is LSOFTs problem, NOT MIT's. And although MIT could look for and pay for a different list server, it is no guaranty that a replacement would be better and it is not our place to ask them to do that. They are doing enough as it is. We are getting a free ride here and beggars CAN NOT be chooses. If you turn off untagged posts, (see the FAQ at http://www.piclist.com ) you will not get garbage like that. Any valid poster who starts a thread without a correct tag is emailed with a notice that they should probably repost it with the corrected tag, so you won't be missing anything worth seeing. Someday when I get rich I'll buy MIT a new list server and setup lifetime financing for the bandwidth and code improvements. An open source project of course... How many T-Shirts would list members have to buy to pay for that? http://www.piclist.com/support --- James Newton: PICList.com webmaster, former Admin #3 mailto:jamesnewton@piclist.com 1-619-652-0593 phone http://www.piclist.com/member/JMN-EFP-786 PIC/PICList FAQ: http://www.piclist.com -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
