I think it does. Yes Alan, I'm using GW-BASIC

I'll try rebooting in DOS and see if that makes a difference. If it
doesn't it's not the end of the world. It's not absolutely necessary
that I get it perfect if it has to be run from within Windows as the
final version of the terminal program won't be in BASIC anyway,
because of the graphics side of things. It's just not a good look
when you have to explain a problem or condition of use to a
client before the program(s) are even running
