Altronics sell centre tapped torroidal trannies in Perth Australia. They
were used for their 1200w inverter kit. If you ring up wholesale they might
still have some. Theyre 1200watt centre tapped 24-0-24 volt primary I think
and 340v p-p output. Frequency is 50Hz.

Still thinking about efficient most cost effective 240vac (Australia)
production from solar.

 A previous post (Lawrence Lile, thanks I was unaware of this) indicated
that when 240vac is stated  that RMS is implied, therefore VPP =
240V*1.414= 339v-0v-339v.

I liked the idea connecting 0V to the centre of a centre tapped toroidal
former and bashing each end into the positive rail.  I went looking for
toroidal that might fit the bill.  For me none easily or cheaply available.
So may have another crazy (must be the water, infect they have just released
that it contains high levels of arsenic) cheaper more efficient idea

I was looking at MOSFETS in the RS (Radio Spares) catalogue and found for
about AU$3.00 a  10A 400Vds max 0.55ohm max Ron with a gfs s/min of 3.4. Is
gfs an indicator of freq.  I need to switch on the MOSFET for 250us, 4 times
every 20ms.  Any idea if these devices can do that sort of high speed
switching.

If so I will use about 25 of them and that should be the  bulk of the 240vac
8A supply plus of course batts and panels.
