Have you changed the include and linker files from c452 to f452?  Did you
build it with MPLAB 5.62 for the f452?  If so, it is more than likely an
emulation error.

I have successfully used USART (and other) code interchangeably between c &
f parts with *no* problems.  (I was surprised - not that I'm complaining,
though.)
