If you can live without an I/O pin, then my Trivial Low Voltage Programmer is one of the simplest to put together: http://www.finitesite.com/d3jsys I recently added an ICSP version for the 16F628 here: http://www.finitesite.com/d3jsys/proglvp-icsp.gif It works when the 16F628 is set for internal RC operation and MCLR as an input pin.
