Yes, it sounds like you're looking for a PDIP (plastic dual in-line package). When you're ordering, look for a chip that ends in /P. To find this information in the future, check the last few pages of the PIC datasheet. Each one, including the 16F877, has a section called "PICXXXXX Product Identification System."
