I've tried it both ways (leaving it connected to pin 7 and rewiring it to pin 6) and it didn't change anything, as far as I can tell. It doesn't look like most programs use that signal. I however say wire it up, how I did it was I bent pin 7 away on the PCB and then used a small piece of wire wrap to connect pin 6 to where pin 7 was connected. Was very easy to do.
