I found recently from Analog devices a few different DSPs that a friend of mine reported to be roughly $3.00 in unit quantities. I have not checked this myself, yet, but that's a place to look. Try a parametric search on www.chipcenter.com . They require a login for more than a few searches, but they don't spam you, so I think it's really not that bad.
