Have not yet tried this but it should be possible to configure the A/D
module to use the Vref+ when measuring the 0-1.5V range (given the 2 volt
minimum requirements) and then reconfigure the A/D module to use the
internal (+5V) reference when measuring the larger range.

Alternatively, the 0-5V signal could be divided down with a resistor chain,
but care would be needed with regard to charge times, etc.
