Actually it should be pronounced as "ti", the "ckle" stands for the Tk library that is often 'bundeled' with the Tk interpreter (for instance in wish). The combination is refered to as Tck/Tk. BTW Tk is just a C library and can be used in other environments than Tcl, see for instance Python / TkInter.
