Note: Picdude, thanks for the link, I saw it yesterday, but hadn't sent a reply yet. Well, that may work for you, but here's my experience: I ordered my GPS on-line, being in Canada and got this response: >Date / Time of your order: 6/18/02 4:50:38 PM > >Your order consists of: >(1) ACS1394 - GPS And Antenna $24.95 > > >Subtotal: $24.95 >Tax: $0.00 >Total: $24.95 Now, if we add the $7.50 USD for shipping and handling "Canada, add $7.50 minimum shipping and handling." Now, I know that that says minimum, but this thing weighed well less than 6 pounds, which is their $6.00USD shipping weight within the US, but what appeared in my VISA was: 19 Jun 2002 B G MICRO INC GARLAND TX 53.00 33.95 USD @ 1.5611 Which means that I actually got charged $9.00USD shipping and handling But that's not the end of it, either. When I went to the post office to get the package yesterday, it cost me an additional $10.56CAN (6.76USD) which was comprised of: $5.56CAN(3.56USD) of tax and a $5.00CAN(3.20USD) handling fee. I know I should expect this, ordering things from other coutries, but in general, I don't... Call me naive... whatever... When I ordered something from ebgames.com, there were no additional handling fees, and they told me how much shipping was going to be right then and there. --Brendan ----- Original Message ----- From: "Bob Ammerman" To: Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 4:02 AM Subject: Re: [OT]: GPS receivers: anyone have the specs? > I have ordered several times from BG Micro and got my order quickly and > correctly. > > Bob Ammerman > RAm Systems > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "cdb" > To: > Sent: Thursday, June 27, 2002 12:39 PM > Subject: Re: [OT]: GPS receivers: anyone have the specs? > > > Strangely PICDUDE I had the opposite experience - it took them a week to let > me know the postage and then I received the goods in Oz 6 days later. > > Now if you want to buy something from Bull Electrical a surplus place in the > UK that's another matter. > > They called me a terrorist and told me to do business elsewhere. > > Colin > -- > cdb, bodgy1@optusnet.com.au on 27/06/2002 > > -- > http://www.piclist.com hint: The list server can filter out subtopics > (like ads or off topics) for you.
