Why oh why, can't I find any small red 7-seg LED's?

I'm even not picky...
- Red (common color)
- CA or CC is fine
- 1, 2, 3, 3.5 or 4-digit units will do

- Only specific requirement is that I get 3.5 digits
in a PCB space of approx 1.4" (width).

Ideally, I want the largest digits in the least PCB
footprint, but I'd be happy to find anything that
fits at this time.

Also considering just using 3 digits and a single
rectangular LED for the negative sign.

Anyone know where I might find these?  Digikey doesn't
seem to have anything in stock.
