All brands that I have tried work OK at 4 MHz but some people have had problems with some brands at frequencies higher than 10 MHz. Harrold H can fill you in on that. But yes - 2 terminal resonators will work just fine if you add the appropriate capacitors to them. Think of them as a low quality crystal - much looser tolerance, much lower Q, more loss.
