Hi Bob, I am using MPLAB6.0 with the ICD2 and Microchip C18 v2.00 compiler with the PIC18F452 and W2K. I have nothing but good things to say about this setup. Everything works as advertised. With the ICD2 running on the USB port, I can compile and download in less then 20 seconds. Also, you get real C-source level debugging. For now, MPLAB only supports the microchip C18 compiler. You can download a full working demo of the C18 V2.00 compiler from microchip. The only thing missing from the C18 compiler is a printf library function. There are several shortcomings I've found with 5.5, the serial ICD, and CCS that prevent you from stepping thru C code, and I understand that these problems were supposed to be fixed in the 6.0 release of mplab. Anyone using CCS with mplab 6.0? My guess is it would be early and buggy... So, I'm wondering if I should spring for the new ICD2, the CCS compiler for 18x devices, and switch over to the 18F devices... tx Bob -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
