If you are restricted by the limitations of Windows drag & drop file copying
XXCOPY may be your friend. Can be used at an extremely simple level or using
some of the 200+ option switches. For backup operations the basic /BU option
will meet many needs.
eg to incrementally backup the C:\DOC folder and all lower level
subdirectories to the BACKUPS folder in G: use
        XXCOPY /BU   C:\DOCS   G:\BACKUPS
