That is correct, but in many applications you only need two to stabilize a couple axis, or maybe even one. And you might want to buy a spare, from what I've read from heli & airplane hobbyists, they can be fragile, if not shock mounted in foam. But the frequency response specs 100Hz (flat at 10 Hz). Which means if your not trying to be agile like a bat, but just trying to maintain stability, it may do? My crude DIY gyro (at http://home.attbi.com/~scottxs/ ) detects rapid rates, but not low ones.
