Tal, Depends on what you are trying to do. General rule is to wind with the turns evenly distributed around the toroid. Keep in mind that at 500kHz wire larger than 30 AWG (0.28mm dia.) will exhibit enough skin effect that you might want to start considering bifilar/polyfilar windings.
