Hello, I have recently undertaken a complex (at least for me) project and would like some input as to what clock speed to use. I will be throwing around data (up to 16 Mbits at a time) between an input device, a flash memory IC, and a wireless transceiver module at speeds of 38400bps all across the board (all interfaces are serial). Luckily, though, the Manchester encoding of the data will be performed by the transceiver chip so I don't have to worry about data encoding. I might also want to do some XOR checksums (haven't decided yet, the BER for my RF module is about 10^-3 at -109 dBm) I was going to use a 4MHz clock, but now am considering trying for a lower speed since this is a battery powered device. What do you guys think? Thanks, Adam Smith -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline? Don't AutoReply us! email listserv@mitvma.mit.edu with SET PICList DIGEST in the body
