No, it will make it immune to all over-voltage attempts in the future. It
will also multiply all by itself. Just bury it in your garden and wait for
4-6 months. You will find a whole stick of them where you once buried one.
There is no guarantee though. I've heard that urinating on the spot fromt
ime to time helps, though.
