Hi there,

Does anyone know of any CD Rom units that come in pre-made units with the
laser/servos etc that could possibly link directly into a pic micro with
little effort?

I'm looking for ways that a pic micro can interface with a CD rom without
having to have an entire CD unit with a IDE interface, possibly a unit with
D0 - D7 and control lines etc ...

Speed is not an issue with single speed being preffered.

Maybe someone has a circuit schematic that can do this so i can make the
unit myself? or somewhere i can find information on how to make this?

Also are there any saftey issues i need to be aware of when dealing with the
lasers?
