Check the Microchip errata sheet for this part, on the web site. It is shipped with the low voltage programming (LVP) bit set, and normal high voltage programming (thro /MCLR) will not override it. RB4 the LVP pin must be isolated (eg with plastic sleeve) on first programming, with config set fo LVP off. In theory it can then be normally programmed with the usual 13V on /MCLR and RB4 should default to normal i/o pin. I found that even after successfully programming the part in this way I still needed to isolate RB4 subsequently. Ken ----- Original Message ----- From: "A.J.
