I fully aggree with this and cell phones are no-no in surgery and recovery rooms afaik. Probably not because it would hamper the surgeon's performance or attention. Maybe B. Bromilow who is a MD can elaborate on this. There was a thread on this list once about jamming cell phones and what the jammer would do to equipment (instead of the phone). Pretty scary stuff.
