The tubes I can get are 46 cm long. with the tube connectors, this makes the
thing about 48 cm. my box is made with 1 cm plywood, dimensions are 50*15*35.
The whole thing is glued together. The tube equipment is glued in place
(transformers in the bottom, connector with starter on the sides).
The tube is at 4.5 cm from the top of the box.
Then the 4mm pane of glass is held with aluminum L - shaped bars that are glued
on the side.

Took me about 2 days (including waiting time for the glue to cure.)
