Augat makes a couple the MCK and the HOLTITE series -- probably others http://www.aboveboardelectronics.com/thomasandbetts/Augat_Interconnects/sips /index.html -----Original Message----- From: Jochen Feldhaar [mailto:j.feldhaar@TELEJET.DE] Sent: Friday, June 07, 2002 2:55 AM To: PICLIST@MITVMA.MIT.EDU Subject: [EE]:Looking for IC socket "sunk into via" Hi all, I recall that about 15 years ago there existed a kind of ic socket that was made of a spring contact placed inside a via of a PCB, protruding only 0.1 mm on top, so if you didn't look real hard, there was no difference to the IC soldered directly into the PCB. On the underside, the contact protruded maximally one millimetre (in a 1.5 mm PCB). Now the question: Anyone have a URL or brand name or manufacturer for these thingies? Or perhaps a similar product for holding the pins of a crystal with minimal height requirement (soldering won't do...)? Thanks!
