Yes, Network dependant. My Fido Phone which uses GSM has the ability to receive email via my_number@fido.ca However, I don't know if the reply feature sends back to an email address. A friend in Sweden has just developed a security system that sends SMS to various phones depending who is on call and the severity of the alarm condition. He tested it out with me to show that it would do it via long distance SMS.
