I have seen TV games like ping pong and others that run on a 16F84 pic =
and were very stable.
The main problem is seems to be getting the timing of the software =
exactly right.

Might provide you some clues....

I am using PIC microcontroller (4 MHz crystal) and LM1881 to add a white
box to
composite video at a specific location on TV. The problem i am having
is that the box is not stable and moves on TV horizontally.
Have tried

1)changing microcontroller clock from 4MHz to 20MHz.
2)EL 4583 sync seperator.
3)filtering the horizontal sync.

but have not got any success.
any suggestions ?

one of my friends suggested to  Phase locked loop clock with horizontal
sync as pic clock is not stable. But how.
