Personally I find little use for the midrange reference manual.  Everything
you need for a particular PIC can be found in the data sheet for that PIC.
I think I flipped thru the mid range reference manual once several years
ago, but I've done dozens of PIC projects using only the data sheets.

In master mode, the PIC will produce 8 clock cycles for every load of
SSPBUF.
