I tried the one-sec routine that was recommended by Roman.  It is working
better than my old code, but I still come up short, over 6 hours I
accumulated almost 20 seconds of loss. (assuming it hadn't completely lost
over a minute)

Frankly the spec sheet for my resonator left me saying "I hope this is
right".  I installed it with the center pin going to ground.  I don't have a
freq. counter to test it with (next project maybe).

Is it common to have to 'fudge it' a little to get it right?
