If the drive is only two years old, RMA it. WD drives carry a three year warrantee. WD is very good about replacing them. You simply download a test program and run it. It will give you an error code that you simply type into a web page to get an RMA number. You then ship the drive to them, and they send you a new one. Real nice. ;-) If you call them on the phone and provide them with a credit card number, they will cross ship. As long as you send the drive in to them, they will not charge your card. Hurry! Before it's too late. ;-) Michael Brown Instant Net Solutions www.KillerPCs.net "In the land of the blind, he who has one eye is king" ----- Original Message ----- From: "andy n1yew" To: Sent: Thursday, May 23, 2002 6:41 AM Subject: Re: [OT]: X server on windows (howto) > I'm a student, as in HS student, which means I'm even poorer. :-P > > I tried to install linux on this HD, I've had it on here before, but it > doesnt like the HD's bad sectors(there's at least 1 megabyte of them 3/4 of > the way down the disk).. > Of course it's a western digital, what else fails in 2 years.. > > andrew > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Brandon Fosdick" > To: > Sent: Wednesday, May 22, 2002 2:29 PM > Subject: Re: [OT]: X server on windows (howto) > > > > andy n1yew wrote: > > > > > > Anyone know how to run an X server on m$ windows? > > > > > > I have a few linux boxen and i wanna have it show up on here, I've done > it on linux before, but being a student I am forced to use windoze for some > things, and I'd like to have some linux progs open on this desktop.. > > > > > > Im not lookin for RTFM, cause TFM dont have much in it on running a > windoze x server..(AFAIK, I could be wrong) > > > > Xwin32 is a decent commercial package with a free trial version (time > limited). > > You mentioned that you're a student, presumably in college?
