The customer had problems finding a standard VFD to fit in the encapsulation, and size reduction can be sifnificatn as we can design for the encapsulation and also use it efficiently for cooling, use the same microcontroller, etc. I believe one solution idea might be V/Hz control, and good feedback from motor shaft encoder, and boost I and U when slipping.
