"RedBack" is simply a name the developer has given to the firmware. The problem involves the LVP pin (terminal 10) of the PIC16F628 and the Newfound site offers a number of alternatives. I have found that placing a small piece of wire insulation on terminal 10 and then using the 40-pin ZIF has been the simplest. In theory, the LVP pin should be isolated and at ground, but I have found this simple isolation has worked for me.
