PICers, I have a battery operated camera that uses a 1.5Ahr 12V gel battery. I found it was too puny for the job so I made an auxilliary power power pack with 2 x 7.5Ahr 12V gel batteries in parallel (overkill). The arrangement looks like so ((switches, fuses etc not shown) :- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------ | | | | Battery_ 1(7.5Ahr) Battery_2(7.5Ahr) Battery_0(1.5Ahr) LOAD | | | | GND GND GND GND OK, the gizmo works but the 1.5Ahr battery still drops dead when I switch out Battery_1 & Battery_2. It falls down to around 3.5V! (B! & B2 are OK) I figured B_1 & B_2 would "top up" B_0 during operation and all would be well. Is there something I'm not figuring here? Does this arrangement *have* to have batteries whose capacities are all equal? Thanx for advice - Ian. __________________________________________________________________ Get your free Australian email account at http://www.start.com.au -- http://www.piclist.com#nomail Going offline?
