If you're really desperate would you make a parametric
EQ with digital pots ?

It would take just a few per channel - a ganged pair
for Q, a ganged pair for Centre Frequency and one
for Cut / Boost. There may be circuits around that
use just one pot for each variable, my reference circuit
uses the above. Add one for volume and run the whole
lot off a PIC or two

An alternative to digital pots is to switch a 4066 in / out
at high speed (or at least high enough to not interfere with
the audio). By changing the mark:space ratio of the oscillator
driving the Control pin you effectively create a value between
the switch's Ron and Roff
