Looking for a IC chip that can monitor a 12 Vdc battery system with lead-acid or gel-cel batteries. I have not had any luck search- ing the web. I need to monitor a single and or a bank of batteries and determine how much capacity is left in the system. I am not sure if monitoring the voltage will provide an accurate value of capacity left in the system. If I have 1 or say 4 batteries in parallel all being 450 CCA, would the voltage level being monitored represent the capacity of the system ? All of the battery indicators I have looked at seem to monitor voltage level to indicate battery level. What I=20 need to know is capacity remaining at the current AMP draw rate.=20 In response to the current monitoring for 12 Vdc that has been=20 floating around I will be using a hall sensor from Honeywell http://content.honeywell.com/sensing/prodinfo/current/ $20.25 from RS Electric for a 100 amp CT -- http://www.piclist.com hint: PICList Posts must start with ONE topic: [PIC]:,[SX]:,[AVR]: ->uP ONLY!
