hi all

I want to improve my pc based MP3 player, so when power is up I'll have a
message on the lcd. today I need to wait for windows to boot and then I can
send massages within the autoexec.bat file.
I want to put between the parallel port and the lcd display a pic that will
send messages while windows is booting, then when windows take over it will
stop/ignored and other messages will be send by the windows os.
can it be done? electronically and software?
