I think Scenix (or whatever they are called these days) had a software solution for a 2400 modem.=20 Also, consider an off the self generic PC Card modem - should be pretty easy to interface to, and nicely avoids all the approvals issues. There is also someone doing a capacitively isolated line interface/modem chip pair, to avoid the need for magnetic things. Have a vague recollection it may be.
