Has anyone here done any design for RFID applications?

I'm looking at feasibility of using radio frequency ID tags for a very
simple application- less than 8 bits of data, approximately 25mm reading
range.  Particularly, in quantity 50,000 , how much might data labels
typically cost?  Any UK suppliers or pointers to more info?  I've read most
of the stuff on the microchip data sheets.
