Thanks for sharing the "upgrade" experiences.  These experiences definitely
save tons of frustrations and time, not to mention risk of data-loss and
productivity-loss.  Just hate and also can't afford to be an upgrade-n-beta
slave.  But looks like the fire-wire DigiCam and usb ADSL modem left me with
little choice.

Now I have to choose among win98SE, or winME or XP, and find time to do the
upgrade.  My inclination is towards XP so as to prolong the next
force-migration and upgrade, though I am having a 350MHz AMD.
