Hi Everyone, I have a client who has asked me to look at the feasibility of developing a system that involves learning and playing back IR remote control signals. I've been reading a lot about the signals and have found that there are many different protocols that are used out there (and the product would need to support as many as possible) and building a receiver that can read and learn them is going to be tricky and therefore probably too expensive to justify for the volumes we're talking about. So I was wondering if anyone out in PicList-land has built an IR learning remote control or similar which I could license the engine from and use in my product? Or alternatively someone who can supply me a module I can communicate with using a serial link or similar. Rough Requirements: - Can decode as many different types of IR codes as possible (Consumer equipment) - Can notify of incoming commands (decoded "data") - Can send IR codes (under control of external system) - Size of unit is not a great issue Ideally it wouldn't have to "learn" the codes, simply be able to decode them and inform the host system, then be able to take data in the same format as it decoded and send it as the correct IR signal. Please contact me off list if you like.
