Power Trends make some modules which are drop-in replacements for 78xx
regs (but obviously a bit larger, and rather more expensive.....)
My Farnell catalogue only lists 5 and 12v versions but there may be
others.=20
Part no. is 78SR105HC for horiz mount 5V.
IME In some cases additional filtering may be needed if noise is an
issue.=20
