Not for the switch-mode application, but for another job, yes.

For the 2nd app I read multiple external pots to set the
mark:space ratio and frequency. Yet to work out all the
possibilities and limits/restrictions. If at all possible I'd
like to put up a PWM for the 628 page some time

I'll hit the books and the k/b again today and figure it all out.
By the end of today I'd like to think I've got my 4 bucks worth
out of the little bugger
