Hi all, firstly I'd like to mention that I have just noticed that the picclite compiler produced by Hi-Tech has been extended to include the pic16F627. Not sure if this had been mentioned on the list before... I am (still) trying to build my motor controller project, and have recently come to realise that a 16F84 just won't cut it. It's not fast enough when I'm trying to use the timer for two different things and do bit bashed UART and I haven't even looked at the PID algorithm yet! Question is, I only have access to 16F628's where I live, and the Hi-Tech compiler only compiles for 16F627's. As far as I can tell from reading the data sheet they are the same chip apart from the 628 having 2x the flash... Will code compiled for a 627 work in a 628?
