I use a Linksys access point that is widely available for $200 and I have 2 Lucent Orinoco Silver wireless cards which can also be got for well under $100 each. > > I'm thinking about creating a PIC project that connects to the 802.11b wirless access point using a PCMCIA card. My thought is that I'd design and build the interface circuit between the PIC and a PCMCIA card connector and then just plug the wirless card in. I searched extensively but can't find any data that would explain how to 'talk' to the PCMCIA slot and specifically for the wirless card although there must be a fairly standard address/data bus plus protocol lines with simple calls for reset etc. > > Has anyone done this before? Can anyone point me in the right direction for getting my hands on the data I need?
