Given a cable with a crimped RJ45 and either another RJ45 or DB9, how does one calculate the MTBF, since its a passive device rather than active? In theory, given that the pins are of like metals (gold/gold or tin/tin vs gold/tin, etc) and connected once, one might think the MTBF would be very large.
