Respected Members, I am working on a sound effect unit with 380+20 kinds of sound effects based on PIC Microprocessor. 380 effect are the read only while the 20 effects are of Re-Recordable type. Duration of each effect is from 3 sec to 40 sec. The total duration I wish to have on the unit is - 64 minutes of 380 sound effects. - 24 minutes of User Defined Effects can be spread over a maximum of 20 keys. 128 Kbs at 44Khz sound sampling, since the unit is made particularly for good CD quality audio reproduction. All 400 sound effect keys panel should be on front of user and can be played at the same time. I want your help in deciding a framework for this unit. The issues concerned with this project are - Which PIC to use? - What type of memory accessing viz Serial or Parallel? - How to provide keyboard scanning of 400 keys? - How to implement multiple playing of effect? - How to digitise data for storing? I also wish to know if some one has been working on such a project, I was unable to find much info on net, I would really appreciate your contribution.
