I concur with cdb's recommendation.  For about 50USD you get many how to
use CCS compiler examples most of which are useful in the "real" world.
Each example discusses some aspect of PIC programming and the gotchas new
PIC progbrammers may miss.  There are now about 375 8X11 pages.  Here is
