Newbie question

Hello all (The collective)

I would like to preload the EEPROM of a 16F870
with certain values during chip programming in a production
environment.

I have been able to do this using MPLAB with the "Window > EEPROM Memory"
command and then the "Window Modify" command.

The problem arises after I save the project and exit,  if I
then open the project again to program another device,
the EEPROM is blank and I have to repeat the above process
all over again.  It seems as if the EEPROM data is not saved in the hex
file.

Can the EEPROM data somehow be saved in the hex file????

I have tried the MPLAB help file as well as the archive but
have not managed to find a suitable answer.
