(Or perhaps, you are?) The USB 2.0 spec still allows low speed and full speed devices. High speed devices were added in the USB 2.0 spec but high speed operation is not required to meet the 2.0 spec. Note that there are now two different USB logos. The one that was added says 'High Speed USB', not 'USB 2.0'.
